This year the Singapore Night Festival, for the 11th time, boasts a wide range of performances from local acts to acts flown in all the way from Europe! The programmes would last through this weekend starting 23rd August till the 25th. Festival goers get to embrace an experience an immersive and dreamy performance by the French performance group FierS à Cheval as they prance around the audience in an inflatable lit-up horse suit around the Bras Basah/Bugis arts & heritage precinct. If you want to get a shock of your life, check out the electrifying duel between 2 performers from Lords Of Lightning as they wield over 4 million volts of electricity using their body, lighting up the Singapore night sky. You can also catch a dance performance by SIXPOINT5 near the festival food area where you’ll be mesmerised by their movements in a reflective pool of water. Lastly, if you wish to get a few laughs or get your fortune read, don’t forget to check out Automatarium By David Berga along Queen street where hyper-realistic performers interact with audience members every time you insert a coin into their booth (coins will be provided by the show master himself). Food and drinks, yes that includes alcohol, will be available at a designated area called the Festival village in the SMU area.
Just remember to wear comfortable shoes as there’ll be a lot of walking that needs to be done when walking to and from performances. Mandatory bag checks have also been put into enclosed areas like the Festival Village so please remember to carry a small bag with only the essentials to create ease of entry.
