H&M Celebrates 10th Anniversary In Singapore With A Host Of Activities

It’s officially been 10 years since H&M first arrived on our shores — with the very first opening of its flagship store at Orchard Building on 3 September 2011. Subsequently, the Swedish giant fashion retailer grew and expanded its business — boasting nine outlets in total islandwide. So what has H&M got in store for you this year? Well, as part of its 10 year anniversary in Singapore, H&M is celebrating the past, while looking to the future through a series of collaborations and activations for the month of September.

Think — a limited edition 10th anniversary collection created by our local artists, customisable garments, a pop-up cafe, and the list goes on. On top of that, you can even look forward to an exclusive 25% storewide discount on the anniversary day (3 September) — of which the discount is also applicable to purchases made on HM.com and Zalora. With a month-long celebration, here, we’ve rounded up some of the most exciting activities and in-store specials that you can look forward to at H&M’s flagship store this September.

Want to support local? H&M is teaming up with 10 Singapore-based designers to create a limited-edition anniversary collection that captures the spirit of H&M. As part of its efforts for a more sustainable future, these pieces are available for purchase and are made on demand to minimise wastage. Some of these homegrown labels that you can expect to see at the flagship store include the likes of Nathan Yong, who is designing pieces made from offcut zinc plates, onyx and fabric; Heads of State Millinery who will be creating a series of fun and whimsical crochet bucket hats; and WoonHung, that will be offering a wide range of elegant modern jewellery made from natural materials.

As H&M is working towards Sustainable Development Goal number 5 (SDG5), which aims to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls by 2030, the brand has also partnered up with four female illustrators for its anniversary. In line with its ongoing efforts, these four illustrators have designed exclusive graphics that you can customise your own H&M garments with, of which you can choose from the wide array of bright and bold abstract designs available. These prints will be released weekly, and you can print them on your garments with any purchase made during the month of September.

What better way to ring in the celebration than with some mouthwatering treats. Over at the H&M orchard Build flagship store, you can expect a series of food carts inside the store, where they will be serving a selection of coffees, mocktails and baked goods, that you can redeem with each purchase.

A celebration wouldn’t be complete without some exclusive deals and offers. Running from 27 August to 5 September, enjoy limited offers in-stores and online on HM.com and Zalora, on selected pieces from the ladies, men’s and kids sections. To top it all, extra vouchers will also be given to those who recycle their unwanted garments over at the I:CO garment collecting boxes in any H&M stores located islandwide.

Besides going green, the giant retailer will also be giving back to our local heroes by partnering with the ice-cream uncle and touristic trishaw uncles located along Orchard Road, of which you can redeem a free ice cream and trishaw ride from now till mid-September.

Within the store, you will also come across a pop-up that’s dedicated to H&M Stories. Sparking a bit of nostalgia, this digital campaign centres around 10 individuals — ranging from key opinion leaders, brand partners, and friends and family of H&M — where they share their most notable memories with H&M through a visual collage of photos and videos. But if you have a story of your own, you can also share and contribute yours via your own social platforms or at the exhibit itself, and you can even stand a chance to win a $500 gift card!

While we’re still on the topic of nostalgia, H&M will be showcasing a series of collaborations with designers, as well as the brand’s sustainable series, Conscious Exclusive that they have done over the years at the flagship store itself. The large windows at the store will be transformed to display some of the most iconic pieces from these collections for you to admire.
