While Singapore doesn’t have much of a “summer fashion” to speak of as we’re a tropical country, the northern hemisphere is going through its summer phase. This includes, of course, South Korea. We take a look at how these celebs style and dress for the hot, humid weather so that we too, can emulate them in our local context.
To beat the heat, Sunmi opted for a crop top and denim skirt. Here, she contrasted the weight of the denim against the softer knitted crop top to play with textures. Sunmi then kept the look plain with little to no accessories.
If you’re like Mamamoo‘s Hwasa and have an event to attend, opt for a cut-out jumpsuit instead of a regular one. The design elements will allow excess sweat to wick off while being a more thoughtful, stylish choice.

A white dress is a wardrobe staple especially apt for the summer season. Red Velvet‘s Yeri, however, took it up a notch by picking an unconventional design. Take a closer look and you’ll notice the dress’ unique silhouette and construction. Her shoulder bag and shoes are matching too.

The fabric choice here is important too as it looks to be linen or cotton, both of which are breathable materials suited to overcome the balmy heat.

Dressed in a poufy and lightweight black babydoll dress, Jeon Somi‘s footwear of choice is a pair of periwinkle Converse Chuck 70 Plus. The sneakers add a touch of androgyny to the feminine outfit, giving the resulting look a distinctive flavour.
Another way to show off skin is to bare your shoulders. Take a leaf from Park Min-young‘s book and pick a colourful cold shoulder top and match it with a pair of jeans. Brush a little highlighter along your shoulders and collarbones to accentuate them.
