The simplest of makeup looks can be easily transformed with a graphic lip. And swiping on a bright colour is the quickest (and cheapest) way to embody the Spring/Summer 2023 trend. Take Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood for example, while Etro went for the straightforward route with bright lip colours. On the other hand, DSquared2 made quite the splash with a two-toned look.

Known for her creative makeup looks, RuPaul’s Drag Race contestant Kim Chi’s beauty line reflects her love for makeup, and the need for bold colours and quality formulas that would pop in any performance setting. The Sweet Candy Kisses line of bullet lipsticks are made with the same intention, and are available in various bright and pastel shades ranging from bubblegum pink and canary yellow to sky blue and lavender purple.

From the runways of GCDS to Paul & Joe, the eyes were another focal point to showcase fun and bright makeup. It can be as simple as using a colourful eyeliner to give your peepers a slight pop of colour on the waterline. Combine it with eyeshadow to create a statement cut crease, or go for some blown-out smoky eyes.

Viseart is a popular brand for professional makeup artists, known for quality formulas which can keep up with the demands of pro-level usage. Not sure if you can pull off bright neon colours? Try the petite version of the Editorial Brights eye palette to dip your toes into the trend without breaking the bank. Best used with a flat packing brush to load up on the saturation.

Blush might not be the most creative makeup product on the market, but the Spring/Summer 2023 runway beauty looks beg to differ. Soft-washed cheeks seen on the likes of Ulla Johnson's models feel quite familiar and made for the everyday woman, while punchy, bright blush placements seen at Etro and Marni posit avant-garde methods of using colour to sculpt the face. For the latter, saturation is key - so don’t be afraid to stand out.

The latest blush drops from Lady Gaga’s Haus Labs continue using skin-nourishing ingredients such as fermented arnica, hydraberry, vitamins C and E, squalane, and shea butter. Besides that, the pigmented blush comes in various bold colours and offers a fresh, skin-like finish. The blush is also formulated without talc, in case that's something you’re looking out for.

Crystals and sparkly embellishments are the only way to go when creating a truly high-impact look. You can go all out like Halpern, which strategically placed large crystals around the eyes to create a striking visual effect, or opt for a more subtle look as seen at Paul & Joe. For the truly adventurous, try Peter Do’s rhinestoned brows.

Created by the makeup artist behind Euphoria, Doniella Davy, Half Magic Beauty embodies the ethereal and glitzy looks that blew up thanks to the hit television series. Consequently, the brand retails various face gems, crystals and pearls of every size, shape and colour to let your own imagination and creativity run wild. These adornments are made with a hypoallergenic, medical-grade self-adhesive, so you can easily stick them on without needing lash glue or other adhesives.
