Mostly known for his impact on the world of fashion photography, Irving Penn redefined conventional composition norms by being consistently innovative and influential through his work. Penn had a way of capturing his various subjects with both an ease and formal brilliance that many strive to achieve. A new exhibition at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Irving Penn: Centennial, will display an overall grid of Penn’s work, including the subjects and campaigns that he was most creatively inspired by, in celebration of the centennial of his birth. Take a look at some of the beautiful images featured in the exhibition below and walk through Irving Penn: Centennial on display at The Metropolitan Museum of Art from April 24 through July 30, 2017.
