Collaborations are a dime a dozen these days, but there comes news of that one special partnership that’s bound to get everyone super excited. Uniqlo’s upcoming project with J.W. Anderson is prime example of this. Even though Uniqlo made the announcement only hours ago that Anderson has been tapped to create a capsule line for its Lifewear range come fall/winter 2017, anticipation is already at an all-time high.
The Japanese retailer’s choice of collaborators have always been especially studied—think Jil Sander, Carine Roitfeld and Lemaire (the duo behind the French label has since gone on to helm the Uniqlo U line)—and this joint effort with Anderson feels particularly so as well. Through the collaboration, Uniqlo reportedly aims to distill the essence of traditional codes of British uniform and workwear into its own product offerings. Naturally, the talented Anderson, who’s “a connoisseur of tradition and yet he defies tradition” (quote taken from here) is the best man to do this for them. Here, we pick out the most memorable looks from Anderson’s eponymous brand that’ll provide an inkling about how the collection might possibly feel like.
