Launched in 2007, British jewellery brand Astley Clarke has become the go-to jeweller for celebrities such as Sienna Miller, Adele, Suki Waterhouse, Cara Delevingne, Miranda Kerr, Lily James, Naomi Watts and more. With modern shapes and minimalist diamond pavé necklaces, easy to wear gemstone bracelets and traditional gold lockets, we’re excited that it’s finally available in Singapore at TANGS.

Harper’s Bazaar: When did you decide to launch a jewellery brand?

Bec Astley Clarke: I grew up coveting my grandmother’s fine jewellery and then in my late 20’s as a professional working woman I recognised the fine jewellery market was painfully classic and not serving modern women well. Paired with my background in e-commerce and a love for fine jewellery I decided to launch Astley Clarke from my drawing room with a vision to create a luxury jewellery brand celebrating design and craftsmanship. I never imagined that we would have concessions in top department stores across UK, US and now Singapore, as well as our website shipping to over 100 countries worldwide.

HB: What inspires you?

BAC: Our newly appointed Creative Director, Dominic Jones is known for his progressive work and is always trying to bridge the gap between fashion and fine jewellery so inspiration will come from every angle.

HB: What does being awarded an MBE for Services to Jewellery by Her Royal Majesty the Queen mean to you?

BAC: I was thrilled to have received an MBE. The whole Astley Clarke team and our partners have worked tirelessly to build and grow our beautiful British luxury jewellery brand and it was absolutely amazing to feel that there is recognition for all of our hard work.

HB: How does your British background influence what you do with the brand?

BAC: Growing up and living in London has definitely had a huge influence on Astley Clarke. I wanted to create a brand that represents all that is good and proper about British luxury and every day London life can be seen across our collections,  there is still an early video we shot of how London colours influenced our colour palette .

HB: What’s your favourite piece from the new collection?

BAC: The Interstellar Flash ring is one of my favourite pieces from the new collection – it can be worn on its own for a bold statement look or mixed with other rings to create the ultimate modern ring sideways stack (banding is the new stacking).

HB: What are the 5 pieces of jewellery you wear every day?

– A Biography Friendship Bracelet Stack
– 14k rose gold Mini Halo Diamond Hoops (nicknamed the “Sienna” hoop in the office after advocate Sienna Miller who wears up to four on just one ear)
– The Lightning Bolt and Star Biography Pins mixed with the initials of my children from our Initial Biography Pin collection on the lapel of my blazer
– Interstellar rings stacked across my fingers
– 14k rose gold Icon pendant
