Erdem Moralıoğlu looked to Cecil Beaton as his muse for AW20, for which he worked with the National Portrait Gallery curator Robin Muir, whose new exhibition focuses on Beaton’s early work. This came through in a collection that nodded to the decadence of the photographer’s work between the 1920s and ’30s – silver brocade suits, swishy metallic gowns and embellished pleats came down the catwalk.
