Louis Vuitton brings its collaboration with the National Basketball Association (NBA) back for pre-fall 2021. The menswear capsule sits at the intersection of fashion, sport and pop culture, with Virgil Abloh teaming up with streetwear designer Don C on some of the pieces. The collection is inspired by the three main dress modes of a basketball player: Clothes worn for travel, the game and the press conference. The travelling portion consists of casual wear such as hoodies and parkas, while the game kit includes shirts and shorts with fonts that riff on those of different NBA teams. The final segment is made up of boxy formal wear with a ’90s flavour. Throughout the collection, the NBA logo and basketball net detail feature heavily, while the leather bags sport a grained texture similar to that of a basketball.
