Alessandro Michele lifted the veritable curtain for fall 2020, allowing guests a window into the backstage chaos—from racks to hangers to hangers-on, makeup and hair people, and models, of course. Those models were outfitted in Michele’s now-calling card: a mix of time periods (this time, we visited Edwardian England), colors, and styles, from baby dolls to ’70s suiting. All that playful style came complete with an utterly serious edge. There was something a touch dark and romantic about this collection, an undercurrent of the macabre amid lace-edged dresses and faux-fur swing coats.
