The Noir Kei Ninomiya SS23 show was a journey down the rabbit hole, populated by mystical creatures. Silhouettes started with the human form but then evolved into fantastical volumes, with garments created in unconventional fabrics and construction.
A feeling of weightlessness was created when tufts of wool were suspended on countless quills projecting from the model’s body, resembling that of a dandelion pappus. Laser-cut leather pieces were riveted together to form a seemingly impossible three-dimensional shell that almost completely enveloped the model. We were left feeling as though we were transported away from Paris for just a moment.
