New York Fashion Week: 10 Best Looks From Tom Ford Spring/Summer 2020
Here are the standout looks from Tom Ford's Spring 2020 collection
During a week of Ubers, Lyfts, and car services, Tom Ford actually managed to get the fashion set to trek down to the subway platform. The designer and newly-appointed CFDA president staged his Spring 2020 show in an abandoned subway station (Bowery, to be exact). And as only Tom Ford himself could, he managed to make the old public transportation stop both glamorous and cool (will take notes for my morning commute).
Mirroring the venue, the collection itself was a (slight) foray into streetwear for Ford. While there were still ball gown skirts and tailored suiting, gym shorts, baseball caps, and leather moto jackets also made their way into the mix. The collection ended with a series of molded metal crop tops and bras—if you needed another indication that the Tom Ford woman is getting tough (and maybe even riding the subway) next spring.
