One thing was clear this New York Fashion Week: Jonathan Saunders is definitely working his magic at Diane von Furstenberg. “It’s about an eclectic mix of materials, clashing colors and a sense of ease,” said the designer of the label’s Fall 2017 collection.
Like highly-textural pieces of artworks, his Fall 2017 collection consists of clashing bold prints, contrasting colours, and a beautiful mix of materials. Inspired by Africa and Japan, this collection pushes the boundaries of eccentricity and silhouettes. Think: mega sequins on sensuous silk, and an electric blue faux fur coat teamed with a leopard print tunic.
Of course, being Diane von Furstenberg, functionality figured into the equation as well. Let’s just say the sophisticated lady just got a bit more adventurous, and we’re not complaining.
