The Spring/Summer 2017 fashion weeks are finally on the way. The first stop? New York. While the fashion cognoscenti will be busy taking notes of what major Spring/Summer 2017 trends will emerge from the catwalks over the course of the next frenetic month, they’ll also have to re calibrate their calendars for a portion of designers who’ve chosen to adopt the see-now-buy-now approach for their brands.

One such designer who opted to close the gap between runway to retail is Tom Ford. The American designer presented his Fall/Winter 2016 last night at the Big Apple’s iconic Seagram Building. As expected of a Tom Ford show, the celebrities turned up in droves: Julianne Moore, Rita Ora, Uma Thurman, Alicia Keys, Cindy Crawford and Lauren Hutton were some of the stars who lent wattage to the event.

As for the clothes? They were classic Ford: Sexy and high-octane. Ford cut leather tops and tweed pencil skirts with the kind of precision he’s known for; leopard prowled his runway on dresses and coats, while the closing passage of sequinned gowns were sumptuous in their execution.
