Jonathan Anderson‘s approach to the Spanish house of Loewe has always been unconventional – and unapologetic. This season he has maximised volume on dresses, sleeves and skirts, using colour blocks and gathers and pleating to showcase an almost old school quality to his collection. His bags, always modern and have become a signature of his astute business acumen, have developed into a beautiful story of leather made with purpose and function, without sacrificing functionality. Beautiful silhouettes, floaty, dreamy, ethereal makes for a perfect balance of directional fashion with a clear, poignant point of view. Ceramic creations by artist Takuro Kuwata were incorporated into dresses and bags. There was a feeling of ease and effortlessness to the collection, from wide-leg pants that gathered haphazardly at the ankle to languid full sleeves that flowed freely from the shoulder.
