The show setting of the Sacai show, with its smoke-filled corridors with dancing light beams, foreshadowed the darker, more dangerous mood of this seasonโs collection. Chitose Abe presented a sophisticated aesthetic in strong monotones of black and white colour-blocking, with a few graphic prints. There is a feeling that the Sacai woman is more grown up, leaving the playfulness of multi-layers and colours for a more adult arena. This new-found urbane woman is all about her powerful femininity and authoritative stance – welcome to the new decade.
