Paris Fashion Week: 10 Best Looks From Stella McCartney Fall 2016

All the best looks from PFW FW16

Stella McCartney's fall show felt like a thesis on personal styling—finding those special pieces to layer and play with until it feels perfectly you. The show notes called it "sensual with a sense of humor and a tomboy side." Sometimes that tomboy wears lingerie inspired slip dresses in ultra-flattering peach.

McCartney gave denim a sporty twist, with a tie dye finish and bungee cords looped throughout a dress to give it shape. Low nude heels, sustainably made, bien sur, finished the look, along with single crescent moon shapes earring. It all felt styled to a T.

The coat of choice was the puffer jacket, an emerging trend on the fall runways, and explored in multiple iterations here—cropped and vegan leather, oversized and velvet. It made an all noir ensemble fresh—and was stuffed with feather free wadding. The only birds on this catwalk were whimsical swan prints.

It wouldn't be a McCartney runway without some knit innovation. Here they were soft and unstructured, sometimes with raw edges, sometimes ruffled, all sweeping and ultra-cosy.

For all the grays, black and white, McCartney let in some shine in the form of gold Lurex. Worn with a blue velvet parka or a sheer and velvet suit, it was celebratory without delving into full evening. The Stella girl likes her cool factor high and looks unfussy. She'll have a lot to choose from come fall.
