Call it a return to elegance. Nicolas Ghesquière (@nicolasghesquiere) harked back to the quintessential hallmarks of Parisian style without artifice and the lure of nostalgia. Instead, he experimented with new blouson-like shapes for tops, tucked into perfect knee length skirts and atop strappy heels for a sophisticated affair. Taking his cues from the French Renaissance with armour-like strips of silk panels, evening wear was a combination of blocked colour and texture to give movement and fluidity to the curves of a woman.
