It has been said that Miuccia Prada is a designer who somehow manages to capture the mood of the season with her collections at Prada and Miu Miu.

The ‘80s may have prevailed on the spring/summer 2017 catwalks, but Mrs Prada took the season’s nod to nostalgia further back in time with a Miu Miu show that paraded her obsessions with the various decades to full graphic effect.

The designer dressed her troop of girls in groovy ‘40s bathing suits, or swathed them in retro, bathrobe-style coats ideal for a summer frolic on the beach. As expected of Prada, she threw on adorable swimming caps bedecked with rubber blooms on her pin-up beauties, and shod their feet in all kinds of rubber slippers and pool-friendly wedges.
