With the A-list changing their hair every other day and Fashion Week dictating different trends twice a year, it can seem impossible to keep up with what hairstyles are in, and which ones are out.

Thankfully, our go-to moodboarding site and hair inspiration destination, Pinterest, has been keeping tabs for us. And not just in the UK. They've got eyes on the most popular hairstyles hitting the whole globe in 2018.

From laissez-faire messy buns in France and fiery red hair in Mexico, to cute pixie crops in Germany and the Meghan effect side bun right here in the UK, these are the most popular hairstyles in the world, right now.

Pin Increase: +137%

Between Chanel, Sportmax and Stella Jean, messy buns were all over the AW18 catwalks. So it's no surprise that leading the way to this season's hottest hair trend is the most chic country of all, France. Nonchalant and totally effortless, this is the French girl hairstyle we can all achieve.

Red hair is officially back! In Mexico at least. Pins for the fiery hair colour had a surge of over 200% confirming it as one of 2018's biggest global hair trends. Tweak your red to suit your skin tone and avoid flat, post box shades for a bold look that feels expensive, rather than DIY.

The most pinned hairstyle to come out of the US? Braids, of course. Whether box braids. boxer braids, dutch braids or anything in between, Americans can't get enough of the protective hairstyle, with a whopping 445% increase in pins.
