Aijek’s Spring 2017 show packed a colourful punch: scalloped-edge lace, optical prints and deep jewel tones abounded, with the models’ dainty rattan bags driving home the sunny vibe of the collection. Designer Danelle Woo’s versatile designs ran the gamut from high-necked to deep plunge, and from micro-short to billowing maxi.
Meanwhile at Chi Chi Von Tang, things took a decidedly cartoony turn, with guests being treated to a mini acrobatics display and a staged news report of Chi Chi’s emergence as a mysterious, crime-busting vigilante. Committing wholly and winningly to its superheroic themes, the show was pure camp fun, with a comic strip of Chi Chi’s exploits popping up on the brand’s signature harem pants and east-meets-west, frogged bomber jackets.
