Self-Portrait's take on New Age femininity continues to win hearts
It's not easy to make clothes that appeal to women of all ages, but in the short three years since Han Chong started Self-Portrait he's managed to do so with gusto—the increasing number of stockists can attest to his commercial success, too.
During last night's staging at Singapore Fashion Week, Han proved once again why his clothes have struck a chord with women all over: They were fun, playful, sultry and above all, so easy to wear. There were crowd-pleasing ruffle blouses tucked smartly into military-inspired bottoms such as a mini skirt and patent leather trousers.
The utilitarian theme continued on a playful jumpsuit and another olive skirt, this time spliced at the thighs and held together with rings. Constructed to look as if they're worn askew, Han's new interpretations of his guipure off-shoulder tops and dresses will make loyal customers happy and gain him even more fans.
