BAZAAR‘s March 2017 cover star, Christy Turlington has been places. Jet setting around the world since she was discovered at 14, the supermodel-turned-humanitarian kicked off her longstanding career walking for influential designers (think Christian Dior, Yves Saint Laurent and Versace to name a few) in the 90’s. She then found herself among the elite trio of supermodels of the time called “The Trinity”, consisting of iconic supermodels Linda Evangelista and Naomi Campbell.
Two decades on, Turlington who founded the non-profit organisation Every Mother Counts in 2010 following a traumatising childbirth experience in 2003, has shifted her public appearances from glamourous fashion-fuelled parties to events that stand for heartfelt causes, especially those with regards to maternal care and public health.
Scroll through the gallery to see how the gorgeous supermodel/supermom/superhumanitarian has wowed the public, charming everyone with her trademark smile and her big, big heart. If there’s anyone who has used her influence to change world for the better, Christy Turlington is no doubt the poster girl for that.
