Inside the hallowed grounds of the Place Vendôme, Betrand Guyon presented his second collection for the storied couture house yesterday and one thing was clearly on his mind: Food. "Eating is not merely a material pleasure. Eating well gives a spectacular joy of life and contributes immensely to goodwill and happy companionship. It is of great importance to the morale," said Elsa Schiaparelli in her seminal 1954 autobiography, Shocking Life. What transpired from this inspirational quote was Guyon's richly interpreted couture spring 2016 collection titled, Gala dinner. Chintz dinner plates, cherries on top of cakes and, of course, the house's signature lobster all made appearances this season, whether embroidered on little dinner jackets or patterning an evening gown.
