In between a sold-out Clockenflap Music and Arts Festival, the return of Art Basel and another edition of the Rugby Sevens, there’s never been a better time to plan your visit back to Hong Kong. After three long years of drawn-out pandemic restrictions, the city has finally dropped its long-standing mask mandate and is ready to party once again. Below, we round up the best places to eat and drink across Hong Kong, to keep you going all night long.

The Hari Hong Kong
custom

Located in the heart of Hong Kong’s bustling Wan Chai district, The Hari is home to two of the city’s newest and most exciting restaurants: the chic Italian bistro Lucciola, and elegant Japanese terrace restaurant Zoku. Ongoing promotions such as a Weekday Set Lunch at Lucciola (starting at HKD$268) and a Weekend Brunch Experience at Zoku (starting at HKD$688) make this the perfect place to dine throughout the week, whether you’re on a date, planning an outing with friends, or going solo.

Calle Ocho
custom

Bringing the flavours of Spain to Causeway Bay, Pirata Group’s tapas eatery Calle Ocho is a hip weekend hangout for iberico ham, patatas bravas, paella and other Spanish classics. That’s not all – Pirata is offering all travelers a special welcome drink upon presentation of their passport or train/flight ticket at any of its 14 restaurants across the city. Calle Ocho’s weekend brunch menu starts at HKD$348 per person and comes with one choice of dessert, a main course and a selection of starters for the table.

Coa
custom

With the distinct honour of being named Asia’s Best Bar on the World’s 50 Best list, Coa Hong Kong recently became the second bar to top the list in two consecutive years (only matching Singapore’s very own Manhattan in 2017 and 2018). From its opening day, the popular mezcal bar became known as a cosy neighbourhood hangout with delicious drinks, frequently booked out no matter what day of the week. Even if you’re not a mezcal or tequila fan, the bartenders at this establishment will somehow manage to win you over either through their witty banter or penchant for making surprising cocktail combinations.

Kau Kee Noodles
custom

We’d be remiss not to mention this long-standing favourite, which has been around Gough Street for almost a century. It’s built up such a huge following over the years that you’ll probably have to stand in line just to get a seat, but rest assured the no-frills eatery will have you in and out in no time thanks to that quintessentially quick Hong Kong service. While beef noodles are the specialty, you’ll have a variety of noodles and meats to choose from, either in a tasty broth or a spicy sauce. Don’t forget to get a cup of Hong Kong-style milk tea while you’re at it.

The Chairman
custom

The Chairman is a must-try eatery for any tourist looking to visit Hong Kong, but good luck getting a reservation. Often booked out for months in advance, this long-standing establishment has been awarded one Michelin star and consistently ranks as one of Asia’s top 50 restaurants. Serving up classic Cantonese cuisine for over a decade now, the eatery is popular with both visitors and locals alike – try the steamed flowery crab, a prized delicacy from the South China Sea which has proven to be a forever favourite, or the whole pig’s head, conceived in collaboration with Korean restaurant Hansik Goo.
