Villanelle from 'Killing Eve'

With her very distinctive and on-trend style, there is little surprise that Villanelle’s designer looks have topped this list with viewers wanting to emulate some of her most memorable fashion moments.

There has been a 1,060 per cent increase in searches year-on-year for her style – and she has also caused spikes in specific pieces. In April and May, searches for Rosie Assoulin were up 49 per cent, while demand for Chloé suits was up 32 per cent. Following the first episode of the second series, there have been over 3,000 searches for ‘Killing Eve pyjamas’.

Sabrina Spellman from 'The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina'

It turns out that Sabrina Spellman is just as much of a style icon the second time around with the Netflix character becoming a big hit on Pinterest (up 7,450 per cent year-on-year).

Demand for ribbed sweaters grew 49 per cent on Lyst in April following the release of the show’s second season – and page views of Fair Isle sweaters also grew by 30 per cent in the same period. Plaid shirts also saw a revival on Lyst (up 35 per cent).

Renata Klein from 'Big Little Lies'

Although there are more than a few women whose style viewers would want to emulate in Big Little Lies (Pinterest saves were up 490 per cent year-on-year for the show’s outfits), Renata Klein’s serious yet chic designer wardrobe has seen the most interest.

Searches for Roland Mouret’s ruby red Zodiac gown spiked 87 per cent on Lyst after it was featured in the first episode of the show’s highly-anticipated second season. The brand also enjoyed a 23 per cent rise in searches a few weeks later, when Laura Dern’s character wore its Delen jacket.

Jane Villanueva from 'Jane The Virgin'

The fifth and final season of Jane The Virgin has seen thousands of shoppers trying to recreate her wearable looks. Pinterest saw an 85 per cent increase in searches year-on-year for Jane, while Lyst saw specific spikes. The Zimmermann Heathers mini dress she wore was viewed more than 7,000 times in the week following the release of the episode. Meanwhile, there have also been increases for Katy Perry sandals and floral wrap dresses which are continually worn on the show.

Tan France from 'Queer Eye'

As the style expert of the Fab Five, there is no surprise that Tan France is one of the most influential people on TV. Following the release of the show’s fourth season in March, searches for men’s ‘striped shirt’ increased by 39 per cent month-on-month. Searches of patterned polo shirts on Pinterest are also up 58 per cent year-on-year and over 300 customers specifically searching for a ‘Tan shirt’.

Veronica Lodge from 'Riverdale'

Having inspired the launch of blogs and Instagram pages dedicated to the outfits worn by the cast, there is no denying the appeal of the preppy style on Riverdale – and it is Veronica Lodge’s feminine style that is driving fashion searches on Lyst.

Worn in the show’s third season, a Topshop checked coat sold out within seven days after appearing on screen. Searches for Ba&sh dresses increased 55 per cent in May and Alice + Olivia’s Tanner dress saw a 60 per cent increase in views 48 hours after being worn in an episode. Meanwhile, Pinterest data shows a 29% increase in searches for pleated dresses, a must-have in Veronica’s wardrobe.

Fleabag from 'Fleabag'

It didn’t take long for Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s character to inspire fashion searches when Fleabag returned for a second season this year. The black backless jumpsuit worn in the season two premiere sparked a 460 per cent increase in searches on Pinterest in June, with more than 500 people specifically searching for ‘Fleabag jumpsuit’ on Lyst. Demand for black trench coats and red Reformation dresses significantly increased in April on Lyst.

Eric Effiong from 'Sex Education'

Sex Education’s Eric Effiong’s style has also been inspiring customers since the show’s debut. Searches for Nike’s PG 2 sneakers grew by 14 per cent between January and March after Eric wore a bright purple pair in an episode. In the same period, demand for matching tracksuits increased by 22 per cent. Meanwhile, his tiger-print sweatshirt sparked a 40 per cent search increase on Lyst, as well as a 44 per cent increase on Pinterest.

Zoey Johnson from 'Grown-ish'

Grown-ish’s Zoey Johnson, played by Yara Shahidi, is one of the most stylish college students turned fashion-magazine interns on television, inspiring thousands of shoppers to recreate her smart yet bright and youthful looks.

On Lyst, the character’s Lilo Striped Cat jumper by Zadig & Voltaire became the most wanted animal jumper in June, while views of the Diane von Furstenberg leopard-print shirt spiked 15 per cent after being worn on the show. Meanwhile, her Topshop spot overalls became the most-wanted dungarees on Lyst in July, quickly selling out.

Fashion student Ava Jalali sealed her fashion influencer status when searches for her Ruffled Velvet dress increased 37 per cent the week it aired, while her Kelly cape by L’Agence sparked a 44 per cent year-on-year increase in demand for capes in April — a particularly high number considering the time of year.
