Travel + Leisure has released its annual ranking of several travel categories, including hotels, cities and cruises. The one we are most interested in: islands!
The below list of the top 10 islands in the world is based on the results of a reader survey, where travel aficionados were asked to use their own experiences to make a judgement call on which islands were the best all-rounders.
The final list includes entries from all over the world, including three from Europe. None of the Great British Isles made the top 10, but we are sure they wouldn’t have been far behind.
The general feel of the list is certainly hot, tropical and peaceful. Here are the top 10:
