Since its inception, COS has been the sartorial destination for those who appreciate stylish yet practical, contemporary cool garments that stand the test of time. And now, the Swedish brand is adding one more pillar to its ethos: Sustainability—and not just in their collections.

The Store

Earlier this month, COS unveiled their newly-renovated ION Orchard flagship store. The space that many of us have grown accustomed to now feels brighter and more spacious. The 518 square-metre space was renovated by reducing, reusing and regenerating materials. About 69-percent of aggregate materials used were either upcycled existing fixtures or sourced using environment-friendly materials from suppliers.
As you enter the store, you’re greeted with a rack and an upcycled table filled with a curated selection of garments, bags and accessories. Further in, you’ll find the women’s section in a much more open layout that it previously was. There’s even a sitting area where you can have conversations with friends or socialise with other shoppers.

The men’s section remains at the back of the store, but with the new layout, it doesn’t seem as hidden as it once was. Previously, the windows were covered up and let little to no natural light in. In our opinion, the best revision to the entire store has got to be the refreshed fitting room. Outfitted with soft, fill light and large mirrors, it’s the perfect spot for taking selfies or creating TikTok content.

“In sharing a new look for this store, we are also showcasing an ever-evolving brand that puts its sustainability values at the forefront,” said Petra Lerch, COS Asia Pacific Managing Director in a press statement. “This important physical touchpoint is a great way for our customers to connect with the world of COS and we’re excited to welcome them back!”
The COS ION Orchard Flagship is located at 03-19/23/24A, 2 Orchard turn, S238801. Open daily from 10am to 10pm.
The Collections

Furniture and fixings aren’t all that’s new. Along with the unveiling of its new look, COS also launched its men’s and women’s fall/winter 2022 collections. First presented during its debut at New York Fashion Week, these collections take inspiration from cities all over the world and its change-makers (who also front their campaign imagery).
COS also aims to uplift and inspire its community through optimism and curiosity for the future. Plus, over 92-percent of the collection is made using sustainably-sourced materials that’s paired with neutral suiting as well as natural, undyed cashmere.

As always, the concept of style over fashion underlines both the men’s and women’s collections. In other words, it’s all about timeless pieces that can be mixed and matched for a sophisticated wardrobe. Think: refined tailoring by way of single- and double-breasted blazers as well as languid trousers. Elsewhere, positivity is expressed through the use of colours—green, purple, pink and orange tones.
The line-up also includes: 1970s-style leather boots, soft knits, Desserto® cactus leather bags in acid brights, knitted hoods, and bucket hats. But the star has got to be the Quilted Oversized Shoulder Bag, made popular by Blackpink’s Jennie.

And for the first time ever, COS has introduced occasionwear to its lineups. Dreamed up by the COS in-house atelier, the collection features a coordinating skirt set that uses 100-percent recycled sequins, evening dresses, coats in soft, luxurious cashmere and more.
