The wait is finally over. Alice in Borderland is set to return with its second instalment this December and we couldn’t be more thrilled!

Here, the story follows a group of friends who stumble in a world of high-stakes games with deadly consequences. For the unacquainted, the first season ended with Arisu (played by Kento Yamazaki), uncovering who was the mastermind behind all of the games. However, in the trailer for the second season, the characters in the “game” are tasked to conquer a series of new challenges that are a lot more difficult than the former, as seen in season one. The cards that were given in the previous season were ranked according to the difficulty of the game – the higher the number, the tougher the game. However, in the new season, “face cards” will also be introduced into the mix, of which, if it follows the original manga series, the games will be as tough as going against the final boss in a video game.

Alice in Borderland (Season 2) will premiere on Netflix on 22 December.
