IWC Schaffhausen has launched a new set of timepieces: The Portofino Hand-Wound Day and Date collection, which neatly balances simplicity and intricacy. Available in three different shades, the simple alligator leather strap and dial of each piece encircles a watch face bearing 3 displays—one which shows the seconds, and another that features the day and finally the power display, which indicates when the watch will need to be rewound. Also included is a panel that shows the date, reminding you to live in the moment with just a mere glance.

“At IWC Schaffhausen one of our aims has always been to make watches that combine functionality with elegant, clear-cut design,” says Georges Kern, CEO of IWC.

The newcomers in the collection keep true to his word, throwing some variety into the mix. Among them are the blue and purple-hued additions to the Portofino Automatic 37 line, as well as the latest version of the Automatic Moon Phase 37, which swaps the usual diamond-studded casing with a classic stainless steel.
