1. Celebrity Engagement Rings Galore
Many celebrities are one step closer to tying the knot, and they are doing it in style with interesting engagement ring designs.
From Dua Lipa’s modern chunky gold band and Zendaya’s east-west diamond at the beginning of the year to Swift’s antique diamond ring and Miley Cyrus’ gypsy-set beauty, it’s crystal clear that distinctive jewellery designs are hot in demand.

2. Taylor Swift’s Discontinued Cartier Watch
Yes, this is our third mention of Miss Americana, but there’s a good reason for it. Her engagement ring wasn’t the only thing to blow up headlines on that fine day. Swift’s watch—the Cartier Santos Demoiselle in yellow gold and a diamond-set bezel—quickly became a talking point, causing a surge in interest and prices across the grey market.

3. The Louvre Heist
A large bodice bow of Empress Eugénie that was previously on display at the Louvre.
A set of emerald jewellery from Marie Louise that was among the eight jewellery pieces stolen from the Louvre.
In October, like a scene out of a heist movie, four thieves broke into one of the most famous museums in the world—rather easily, might we add—and scootered away with eight historical, priceless, jewellery creations. While historians and jewellers mourn the loss of these pieces, possibly stripped and sold in parts, the Internet was having a field day with thousands of memes making light of this unfortunate event.
4. The James Bond Fabergé Egg Heist
It seems one heist just wasn’t enough for 2025. In early December, a man attempted to steal a limited-edition Fabergé egg pendant inspired by the James Bond film Octopussy from a jeweller in Auckland by swallowing it—again, bearing striking similarities to the plot of the Bond film. The man was eventually arrested and passed the $27,971 pendant naturally, which was recovered by the police, so at least there is some good news.
5. Isha Ambani’s Reimagined Toussaint Necklace
On the same film track, Isha Ambani drew inspiration from Ocean’s 8 with a recreation of the Toussaint necklace by Cartier. This piece of jewellery featured 89 diamonds, weighing over 480 carats in total, from her mother’s personal collection, making it one of the most dazzling jewellery pieces to make an appearance on fashion’s biggest night.
6. The White Lotus Cast And Their Luxury Watch Collection
Speaking of shows and watches, the fourth season of The White Lotus was a major hit—as expected with a star-studded cast including Blackpink’s Lisa—but it wasn’t just TV and movie buffs that got really excited. Watch collectors from all over the world were totally invested in the characters and their taste in watches, which were meticulously curated to fit each of their jobs and personalities.
7. Ariana Grande x Swarovski Collaboration
Calling Ariana Grande a multi-hyphenate is almost an understatement. She’s slayed consistently on the music charts, she killed it as Glinda in Wicked and Wicked: For Good, she has a beloved cosmetic empire, and in 2025, she stunned the world as Swarovski’s global brand ambassador while releasing her own capsule collection with the brand. What can she not do?

8. G-Dragon Releases His Own Jewellery
Anyone who has been a fan of the King of K-pop, G-Dragon, knows he loves his bling, which is why the launch of his jewellery collaboration with Jacob & Co. became a viral sensation. The limited-edition Daisy pendants and earrings are available in two variations—a more affordable variation in sterling silver with a precious stone and a full gold version with diamonds.
9. Hublot Debuts Second Timepiece With Daniel Arsham
Hublot’s watches are always a sight to behold, especially with its artist collaborations, such as Daniel Arsham’s second watch model. The MP-17 MECA-10 Arsham Splash Titanium Sapphire, inspired by a droplet hitting the surface of a water body, represented many firsts for the partnership—it was Arsham’s first wristwatch and the manufacture’s first sapphire case featuring a roughly polished case.
10. Tiffany & Co. Acquires One Of The World’s Largest Rough Kunzite
The famed American jewellery maker is renowned for its use of rare coloured gemstones, from tanzanites and morganites to vivid pink kunzites. Earlier this year, the brand announced the acquisition of an extraordinarily large, gem-quality kunzite rough over 7,500 carats. This incredible find commemorates the 60th anniversary of the iconic Bird on a Rock brooch, which will be cut and set into 10 unique brooches for distinguished Tiffany & Co. clients.
