The Art Of The Stack: Chanel’s Guide To Modern Jewellery Styling
Chanel’s Coco Crush fine jewellery and Première timepieces offer endless combinations for the modern woman—from asymmetrical earrings to double-wristed watch styling.
The modern woman’s jewellery box has evolved beyond simple matching sets. Today, it’s a curated collection— part archive, part armour and entirely personal. Chanel, ever the pioneer of liberated elegance, continues to lead this evolution with pieces designed not just to be worn, but to be lived in, layered and reimagined daily.
The Maison’s latest offerings embody this philosophy, resulting in a collection of pieces that speak to one another across decades of design, creating endless possibilities for the woman who refuses to be confined by conventional styling rules.

A Pattern Reimagined
It all began in 1906, long before Gabrielle Chanel founded her legendary Maison. The young designer discovered quilting on the blankets of her lover Etienne Balsan’s horses and the jackets of stable lads. Drawn to the structured yet soft motif, she later adopted it in the 1920s for her interior decoration and fashion creations, establishing it as a house code.
In 2015, that same quilted motif took on its most precious form yet, gold. Coco Crush was born—bold, sculptural jewellery engraved with intersecting curves and clean lines. It was instantly modern and undeniably Chanel.

This year, the beloved design receives its most dramatic update. For the first time, vivid rubies punctuate the signature incised gold, transforming familiar silhouettes into something strikingly fresh. Set into the curves of C-shaped pendants and O-centred bracelet elements, the creations allow wearers to spell out “COCO”; on their wrists or décolleté—a playful yet sophisticated nod to the Maison’s heritage.

Adjustable necklaces with four length options offer a myriad styling possibilities: Layer short with long in contrasting gold tones or let a single statement necklace anchor a wrist of stacked bangles.

Equally dazzling is a new pavé setting technique that traces the diagonal lines of the quilt pattern with diamonds. What appears as effortlessly placed sparkle is a feat of meticulous craftsmanship from Chanel’s master jewellers, producing glimmering pieces of extraordinary precision.

The Première Evolution
Since 1987, the Première watch has epitomised the jewellery timepiece. Uniting two Chanel icons—an octagonal case inspired by the N°5 perfume bottle stopper and a supple bracelet echoing the chain strap of the Maison’s signature handbag—it embodies the house’s unique blend of freedom and audacity.

Last year, the Première Sound propelled the timeless watch into daring, and wholly unexpected, new territory. Its bracelet was reimagined into a long sautoir necklace fitted with detachable, high-fidelity earphones. The watch’s unmistakable octagonal case and glossy black-lacquered dial features prominently on one side, while dual-driver audio technology has been seamlessly integrated into the chain itself. Matte-black cable interlaced with leather and gold culminates in a 3.5mm jack ready to connect to your smartphone or audio device. And because form never comes at the expense of function, the earphones include a microphone and remote, so you can adjust the volume, skip tracks and take calls all without missing a beat. Blending couture cool with cutting-edge audio, it reflects Chanel’s instinct for staying one step ahead of the modern woman’s wish list.

And if your style is more understated, the Première Ribbon watch from 2023 offers a chic alternative. A black rubber strap with a velvet touch encircles the wrist, while a bezel set with 52 brilliant-cut diamonds frames its inky dial. Soft yet striking, it pairs perfectly with the gold curves and diamond pavé accents of Coco Crush bangles.

The true magic lies in the mix. Chanel’s collections are conceived with an inherent understanding of how modern women wear jewellery: in layers, combinations, and personal interpretations that evolve. The Coco Crush collection, available in the Maison’s signature Beige gold, classic yellow gold, and sophisticated white gold, is the ultimate foundation for creative expression.

Start with rings of varying widths across multiple fingers for instant visual interest. Mix smooth gold bands with diamond-pavéd ones for texture or combine different gold tones to create your own colour story. The new mini bracelets are equally versatile, serving as refined pieces when worn individually or punchy statements when worn in curated groups.

Ear styling has become particularly creative territory, where asymmetry reigns supreme. Pair Coco Crush hoop earrings in different sizes, mix metals or create a cool stack by clustering pieces along the ear’s curve.
Personal Revolution
At the heart of it all is freedom. Gabrielle Chanel never followed rules; she believed jewellery should adapt to a woman’s life, not dictate it. The Maison carries that spirit forward: dressing with intention, layering with instinct, and transforming daily accessories into declarations of self. You might choose wear a single Beige Gold ring one day or you might go all in the next—stacking pavé Coco Crush bangles, ruby-studded pendants, mismatched hoop earrings, and two watches: one streaming your playlist, the other elegantly keeping time beneath your tweed jacket.
Like the founder herself, who built her own aesthetic universe by breaking convention, the modern Chanel woman tells her story in layers. More than finishing touches to an outfit, these jewels and timepieces are part of the everyday. Because when it comes to style, the most powerful statement is always the one you create yourself.
