Take a journey through colour with Pierre Hardy, creative director of Hermès jewellery and its newest high jewellery collection, which is inspired by how we see colours through the retinas in our eyes. The one-off Supracolor necklace featuring an array of gems from black spinels and chalcedony to chrysoprase, rose quartz and pink tourmaline is a perfect example as it demonstrates the diffraction of light waves through a prism sculpted from rutilated quartz with a triangle-cut diamond at its core.

Chaumet tapped on the power of music, dance and magic for its latest high jewellery collection that features poetic designs across three chapters. Like a conductor, the maison crafted 39 pieces with spectacular rubies, sapphires and emeralds inspired by the heritage of Place Vendôme and its archives from the early 20th century and the more recent Chaumet est une Fête collection, unveiled in 2017. Other notable pieces include the Tango and Trompe L’oeil suits that sport neon blue Paraiba tourmalines and iridescent pearls.

This year, Scheufele tapped into the world of fairy tales—Contes de Fées—to craft all 77 pieces with themes of magic, fantastic creatures and enchanting plant life. Expect an array of gemstones in all shapes and colours set in precious metals including anodised titanium with elaborate designs that give life to the amusing, the quirky and the dreamy wonderment that drives these riveting stories.

Creative director Claire Choisne’s Carte Blanche collections for Boucheron have always been one of the most highly anticipated showcases as the designer is known for bringing the most outlandish ideas to life. This year, the collection titled “Or Bleu” is an ode to water through 26 creations that are literally dripping in diamonds, sculpted from rock crystals and formed with titanium to resemble the waterfalls, glaciers and caves of Iceland. The maison pushes the boundaries of high jewellery further by including natural elements such as obsidian and black sand into several pieces, transforming them into bejewelled snapshots of the Nordic island.

Louis Vuitton has always been proud of their French roots and 2024 is a momentous year for France with the upcoming Olympics. As a tribute to this and the great inventors hailing from France, artistic director of the maison’s watch and jewellery division, Francesca Amfitheatrof has unveiled her sixth high jewellery collection with 220 masterpieces across 13 themes that encompass the prolific era that dictated the savoir-faire we’ve come to admire. “France in the 19th century was a phenomenal time of incredible change, and when Paris really became the centre of the world,” says Amfitheatrof. “The design language of Awakened Hands, Awakened Minds reflects that–all its intricacies, complications and innovations–turned into incredible jewels.”

Speaking of roots, Pomellato never shies away from their proud Milanese heritage that sparked the brand’s creation in 1967. With two chapters dubbed Monochromatic Treasures and Milanese Colour Prism, creative director Vincenzo Castaldo presents 51 pieces that use fluid shapes, colourful cabochon cuts and graphic prong settings to tell a tale of the city’s mix of rationalist architecture and skyscrapers, along with the postmodern design sensibilities spearheaded by Gio Ponti and the Memphis Group that played with colour and shapes.

The house of Dior holds the majestic splendour of flora and fauna close to its heart, often being reimagined across fashion and jewellery. This year’s high jewellery collection is an homage to the naturalistic motifs that Christian Dior surrounded himself with from the emblematic toile de Jouy to the ornamental fabrics that lined his original boutique. The fabulous pieces feature tableaus of animals leaping, fluttering and basking in flower gardens crafted from turquoise, chrysoprase, rubies and more precious gems.
