Annual jewellery and watch festival, JeweLuxe Singapore, may only be seeing its third installation (and arguably its most impressive yet) this year, but make no mistake: The visionary powerhouse woman behind it is hardly a newbie in the jewellery industry. Having cut her branding and marketing teeth at local jewellers Lee Hwa Jewellery, Angela Loh moved on to spearhead 14 successful editions of Singapore Jewelfest from 2003 to 2016. Here, she gives us seven reasons why jewellery lovers would be silly to miss the 10-day festival of independent bijoux brands, which runs from 11 October to 20 October, 2019, at the Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza.

1. It’s bigger and better

This year’s edition sees a meticulous curation of 90 of the world’s most reputable independent designers, jewellery houses and watchmakers, showcasing unique designs worth more than USD$150 million, a definite increase from 2018’s 77 brands and a showcase of SGD$90 million. Furthermore, JeweLuxe Singapore 2019 will be unravelling 53 brands who are new; out of which, 40 of them are making their Southeast Asia debut.

Expect a great selection of jewellery starting from $1,000 by “super” designers such as internationally acclaimed Lorenz Bäumer (former artistic director and creator of fine jewellery at Louis Vuitton and Chanel), and multi-award winning jewellery designers Alessio Boschi and Paolo Costagli New York, etc. There’s also a range of high-octane rare jewels at highly accessible prices such as the Vihari Ruby ring, Tenzo’s Star Sapphire ring and Karen Suen Conch Pearls earrings.

3. You get to dress like the Stars

There’s a strong showing of celebrity jewellers this year. Graziela Gems, for example, has dressed over 30 Hollywood stars, including Charlize Theron, Reese Witherspoon and Cara Delevingne; Fred Leighton, who helped revive the popularity of vintage jewellery and has a devout following among many A-list actresses (Cameron Diaz, Gwyneth Paltrow and Nicole Kidman, etc); and Faraone Mennella of Sex & the City fame.
