When it comes to craftsmanship, no one pays more attention to the details than Hermès. Case in point: The French luxury label's exclusive new watch model, the Slim d'Hermès Mille Fleurs du Mexique.

Taking a mother-of-pearl dial as its canvas, the house pays homage to the art of miniature painting, with the artisan painstakingly applying more than 20 layers of paint to achieve the rich vibrant colours that leap off the dial. The motif also reflects its heritage: Drawing on a scarf pattern the graphic designer Laetitia Bianchi created for the house previously, the “Mille Fleurs” motif features an array of cut leaves and flowers, which recall 15th and 16th century tapestries modernised with Mexican flourishes by Bianchi. Completing the timepiece is a sleek white gold casing that ensconces an ultra-thin Manufacture Hermès H1950 movement, and topped off with a hand-made alligator strap that is the perfect embodiment of elegance.

The Slim d'Hermès Mille Fleurs du Mexique is issued as a limited and numbered six-piece edition.
