Mido Shows The World Why The Quality Of Swiss Watches Is Unrivalled

They celebrate a hundred years of Swiss watchmaking tradition and expertise by paying homage to one of its most iconic timepieces

In 1918, Georges Schaeren founded Mido G. Schaeren & Co. AG watch factory in the Swiss town of Solothurn, building his brand on the foundations of timeless design, quality materials and technical innovation. A century later, those same values continue to drive the brand — a philosophy perfectly expressed by the latest update of one of its most recognisable timepieces, the Commander. First launched in 1959, its streamlined silhouette and refined design, coupled with a distinct round steel case, have ensured it stood the test of time.

Available in steel with a black and silver graduated dial, and for the first time, rose gold PVD with a warm sepia-toned graduated dial, the new Commander Shade is an almost identical reissue: Exuding the same sentimental, vintage charm as a beloved heirloom, the elegant round monocoque case offers a wide opening onto the two-tone sunray finish dial. A Milanese mesh bracelet in satin-finished steel wraps the wrist and fits like a second skin, combining sleek sensuality with comfort. Fitted with a sophisticated and reliable automatic movement, it’s the perfect tribute to the seventies spirit of the original model, updated for the modern style-conscious watch lover.
