From the Vallée de Joux to Singapore, Jaeger-LeCoultre is set to present its third edition of The Collectibles, a curated lineup of vintage timepieces crafted between 1920 and 1970, right here on our sunny shores this Friday, 11 October 2024.

The capsule collection was introduced to coincide with the Maison’s 190th anniversary in 2023 and caters to collectors with a pension for rare timepieces that speak of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s watchmaking savoir-faire and heritage.
The Maison’s team of experts vets every piece acquired from various parts of the world before being serviced and restored meticulously by the watchmakers at the famed workshop located in the Swiss valley.
The restoration team will trace the origins of each watch by combing through the manufacture’s archives, finding blueprints and even a stock of original spare components. Of course, not every part dating back to the ’20s is readily available but the extensive archive houses no less than 6,000 swages and stamps that can be used to craft these spare components from scratch.

“Being able to restore these remarkable timepieces and offer them once again is a nice tribute to our current environment, in which sustainability and second lives have come to the fore,” said Catherine Rénier, CEO of Jaeger-LeCoultre.
“It is fantastic to see 50- or 80-year-old pieces given a new life. For me, that symbolises the beauty of our world—of timeless and durable objects to be passed from one generation to the next.”
While some watches require a more intensive restoration process, the Maison’s acquisitions team sources watches that are close to their original condition to keep alterations on the cases and dials at a minimum to retain their vintage quality and historical nature.

So, what watches can we expect from the third capsule? Well, that is a tight-lipped secret that Jaeger-LeCoultre will only reveal come Friday afternoon. Just like the previous collection, which debuted in Los Angeles in June 2023, the restored watches will be open for viewing at the Maison’s boutique in Marina Bay Sands from 13 to 23 October 2024.
