The world collectively fell in love with Chrissy Teigen when she casually saluted her stretch-marks on Twitter years ago, and now the star has shared another important message about beauty ideals on social media.

Last night, the 32-year-old model and presenter – who welcomed her second child Miles Theodore with John Legend back in May – posted a picture of her self-described “mum bod” to remind us that not everyone on Instagram has rock-hard abs and photoshop-inspired flawless figures.

Teigen added the caption “Mum bod alert” to the post which has already accrued over 40,000 likes.

The new mum then added another snap of herself in the same floral bikini next to her husband, and tweeted:

‘Instagram is crazy. I think it’s awesome people have killer bodies and are proud to show them off (I really do!!) but I know how hard it can be to forget what (for lack of a better word) regular ol’ bodies look like when everyone looks bonkers amazing.

She added that while she was still struggling with body confidence and body acceptance, her aim was to show others what a ‘real’, post-baby bod without airbrushing really looks like.

“Also I don’t really call this ‘body confidence’ because I’m not quite there yet. I’m still super insecure. I’m just happy that I can make anyone else out there feel better about themselves!” she added.

Two weeks after welcoming baby Miles, Teigen delighted her followers by sharing a picture of herself in her less-than flattering postpartum get-up and referencing a joke from Ali Wong‘s Netflix special that described hospital underwear as looking like fancy Korean pear packaging.

Teigen has also spoken candidly about suffering from post-natal depression after she had her first daughter Luna.
