Kate Hudson Just Gave Birth to a Baby Girl and Her Name Is So Unique

Kate Hudson has welcomed a daughter with boyfriend Danny Fujikawa, the actress announced on Instagram today. The baby girl, named Rani Rose Hudson Fujikawa, was born on 2 October and marks the couple's first child together.

Kate explained her daughter's one-of-a-kind name in her announcement post: "We have decided to name our daughter Rani (pronounced Ronnie) after her grandfather, Ron Fujikawa. Ron was the most special man who we all miss dearly. To name her after him is an honor."

She also shared an update on the family: "Everyone is doing well and happy as can be. Our family thank you for all the love and blessings that have been sent our way and we send our right back."

Hudson and Fujikawa haven't shared a photo of their newborn just yet. We're sure the big reveal will be just as grand as her pregnancy announcement, which she made in early April.

The actress broke the news with a video of her gender reveal party on Instagram, after keeping her pregnancy private for some time. "We have been trying to keep this pregnancy under the radar for as long as possible but I’m a poppin now!" she wrote in the caption.

"And it’s too darn challenging to hide, and frankly hiding is more exhausting then just coming out with it!" she added. "My kids, Danny, myself and the entire family are crazy excited! A little girl on the way ?"

Days later, she debuted her baby bump on the red carpet at a jewelry store opening in Hong Kong.

Rani marks Hudson's third child and first daughter. The actress has two sons, 14-year-old Ryder, with ex-husband Chris Robinson, and 6-year-old Bingham, with ex-fiance Matt Bellamy.

Hudson and Fujikawa have been dating for over a year.
