Meghan Markle isn’t taking any breaks after announcing her pregnancy this morning. Less than a day after the news broke, the mom-to-be made her first appearance in Sydney with husband Prince Harry for a welcome ceremony at Admiralty House, to kick off their royal tour of Australia, New Zealand, Tonga, and Fiji.
It wasn’t long until the Duke and Duchess of Sussex received their first baby gifts. Australia’s Sir Peter Cosgrove and his wife gifted the couple with a few gifts honoring the host country. There was a stuffed joey (a bay kangaroo), to which Markle said, “Our first baby gifts!”

The Sussexes were also presented with a tiny pair of UGG boots, as the footwear brand hails from Australia. “Oh my goodness,” the mom-to-be said at the sight of the furry booties. Prince Harry then held onto the tiny shoes and couldn’t have looked happier. Someone’s excited to be a dad!
It looked like the future parents received some hats, too.

Harry and Meghan are due to welcome their little one in Spring 2019, the Palace announced this morning. “Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public,” the rest of the statement read.
Although the baby news arrives shortly after Princess Eugenie’s wedding, Harry didn’t actually steal his cousin’s thunder. It turns out, he and Meghan had already informed their relatives of the news ahead of Friday’s nuptials.
Markle attended the celebration at Admiralty House wearing in a cream shift dress by Australia designer Karen Gee and suede pumps.
