North West’s Self-Styled Japan Looks Prove She Really Is A Fashion Innovator Among Us

It’s no secret that North West has been dressing better than the rest of us pretty much since birth. But now, as the six-year-old begins to style herself more (and I’m not talking picking things off the shelf at The Children’s Place, but actually selecting her own fabrics), it’s becoming more apparent that she’s actually quite the little fashion innovator.

Following a family vacation to Japan, Kim Kardashian West shared photos of her eldest child’s outfits, writing that North styled herself for the trip. From colorful mismatched feather mules to floral-embellished fishnets and lace-trimmed track pants, North’s eclectic looks are something we can all take some style inspo from.

“She comes with me to fabric stores and picks out what she likes and for our Japan trip I let her style herself,” Kardashian West wrote on Instagram. “I should have let her style me too lol. She loves it. She’s having fun and I am so happy she’s so expressive.”

There were feather-trimmed T-shirts, hot pink cargo pants, and embellished tie-dye tees. Of course, North also had the privilege of borrowing her mom’s silver metal Dior saddle bag to complete one of the colorful looks.

But despite all her resources and having two major fashion influencers as parents, North’s playful and expressive take on her own style is a reminder that fashion is supposed to be fun, even for us grown folks. And, hey, maybe we should all start wearing more mismatched outfits, neon feathers, and crazy tights, and less of the same monochromatic, minimal looks. As per usual, North is ahead of us all.
