After touching down in Sydney, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex not only received their first gift for the baby, but spoke publicly about the pregnancy for the first time—and Prince Harry seemed a little nervous at first.
During a speech for a reception hosted by the Governor-General and Lady Cosgrove at Admiralty House in Sydney, Prince Harry spoke openly about Meghan’s pregnancy for the first time. Though he seemed a bit nervous, the father-to-be also couldn’t resist throwing in a few dad jokes about the the weather and the party—and he’s totally a pro at it already. (He must’ve learned from his big brother, Prince William.)
“You’ll also notice that we had a roof on our boat earlier after last year’s downpour, and luckily Sydney’s sun is shining today, so thank you for organizing the weather,” he joked during the speech.
Video: I guess Harry had to speak about the #royalbaby at some point, but he seems very reluctant to do so! “We genuinely could not think of a better place to announce the errr… upcoming baby, be it a boy or a girl” he gulped a little nervously. pic.twitter.com/0s1aliA20w

“We’re both absolutely delighted to be here, and really impressed to see you serving beer and tea at an afternoon in true Aussie style,” Harry said, garnering laughs from the audience. “But genuinely, thank you for the incredibly warm welcome and the chance to meet so many Aussies from all walks of life. And, we also genuinely couldn’t think of a better place to announce, uh, the, uh, the upcoming baby. Boy or girl. So thank you very, very much.”
Meghan watched lovingly from the audience as her husband spoke. The expectant mom wore a chic olive green Brandon Maxwell dress and a pair of Princess Diana‘s earrings, already nailing her maternity style.
