Last night, Prince William and Kate Middleton finally shared some official portraits of their third child, Prince Louis, who was born on April 23.

Following his first photo op, which the baby royal basically slept through, his mother took some adorable portraits at home, one of which features Prince Charlotte kissing her baby brother on the forehead.

But how does Prince Louis' first official photo with his sibling compare to Princess Charlotte's first portrait with Prince George?

Much like at his first photocall, Prince Louis appears to be fast asleep in the photo taken with Princess Charlotte.

However, in her first portrait, Princess Charlotte looks directly at the camera, and is very much wide awake. And in this outtake, the princess looks very alert:

3. The mirrored poses in both photos serve as a welcome to the royal family.

Welcoming their new siblings into the fold, Prince George kisses his younger sister, while Princess Charlotte passes the torch to Prince Louis with a kiss on the forehead. With their matching poses, both photos pay tribute to the expanding family of Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge.

4. Both photos were taken by Kate Middleton.

With her sharp eye, the Duchess of Cambridge has captured her young children in the sweetest poses. It's incredibly apt that she's responsible for these official portraits of her children, as she's giving us an intimate glimpse into the lives of her family, and the baby royals, at home.
