Why did you specialise in portraiture?
Everyone has a story to tell. We love to help people tell their stories through photographs.
What is your perfect photograph?
One that captures love at its most innocent between parents and their children; love at its most passionate between couples; love at its most uncompromising between siblings; even, love at its most anticipated for parents-to-be.
What would you say is the White Room Studio style?
Varies hugely; according to the client’s expectations. The studio’s vast experience in portraiture means our photographers can produce a myriad of emotions in their pictures—from natural and journalistic, to formal and serious, to cute and fun… in tones of black and white or colour.
Why do you love photographing children so much?
They are the most imaginative subjects in the studio. Photographing children is an amazing journey of learning to see and think like kids again.
What has been your favourite moment?
Families who embarked on their first maternity photography session with us return to the studio to photograph their children year after year. We feel honoured to witness and capture these moments.
What do you love most about being a photographer?
We are keenly aware of how fleeting time is. Photographs are the ultimate way to preserve what we take for granted now, and the moments we yearn to relive in the future.
What are your plans for 2016?
A gallery space called Third Room Gallery, which will showcase our photographers’ personal bodies of work. It’s a space where White Room Studio’s photographers can develop and exhibit their other passions in photography.
