The 2017 Oscars will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.
Variety confirms the late-night talk show star will make his debut as Academy Awards host next year, following his well-received stint at this year’s Emmy Awards. He also hosted the Emmys in 2012 and has a track record with other awards shows including the ESPYs and the American Music Awards. Both the Oscars and Jimmy Kimmel Live! air on ABC.
Next year’s Oscars also has a new pair of producers in Michael De Luca and Jennifer Todd, who have vowed to keep the telecast on the short-and-sweet side.
