New York has the best watering holes in the world.
That’s according to the World’s 50 Best Bars awards for 2016, announced yesterday in London. Manhattan’s Dead Rabbit took the top honor, the first time a New York City bar has taken the title since 2011. The tri-level, mid-19th century style Irish/New York drinking saloon opened in 2013 and was named the “World’s Best Bar” in another ranking at Tales of the Cocktail last year.
The World’s 50 Best Bars list is compiled by votes from “an academy of more than 450 of the most renowned names in the drinks industry.” Votes were cast for 652 bars around the world and whittled down to the top 50 to determine the final rankings. Below, the top 25.
