Johnny Depp
This acclaimed movie star has continued to wow us all and this time, with his fervent passion for portrait-painting. Depp has painted portraits of many of his famous friends including Patti Smith, Bob Dylan, Marlon Brando and his ex-partner Vanessa Paradis. If the portrait of Paradis seems familiar to you, you might have seen it on her 2007 album, Divinidylle! Just a quick glance at his portraits brings back image stills of his extreme characterization of eccentric roles like the Mad Hatter and Jack Sparrow.
Lucy Liu
Surprisingly, this Charlie Angel has been active in the arts scene for close to 22 years. You may not have known that and that’s only because Liu has been creating her abstract works under a pseudonym, Yu Ling, since the start of her artistic ventures. Last year however, she held an exhibition under her real name for the first time at London’s Salon Vert Gallery.
Sylvester Stallone
Sylvester Stallone is no different. This Rambo star has created around 300-400 works during his artistic career with paintings imbued in abstract expressionistic styles. Most recently, he has showed a retrospective titled “Sylvester Stallone, Real Love: Paintings 1975-2015” at the Musee d’art et d’art contemporain in Nice, France.
Noah Taylor
Aside from the fame he got cutting a certain Lannister's hand off, this London-based Almost Famous and Game of Thrones actor has been gaining praises for his dark and haunting paper works that were inspired by Australian landscapes. Having recently held a talk at Semi Permanent in Sydney, Taylor also exhibited his works at the Olsen Irwin Gallery.
Courtney Love
Even though Courtney Love has been under the music radar for a while, you could never have guessed that this musician spends her time with paint and brushes. Her paintings are depicted as emotional, raw and incredibly polarizing, quite like the reflection of her music. She also held her first exhibition in 2012.
