Actress, filmmaker and humanitarian, Angelina Jolie also finds time to be Guerlain’s muse. For the latest chapter in this role she pays tribute to modern femininity and to strong, free and independent women in the brand’s new campaign for fragrance Mon Guerlain.
In this exclusive behind-the-scenes video of the commercial, the icon opens the doors to her home in Asia. Shot by Oscar-winning cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki, you can see her traditional Cambodian longhouse in the tropical surroundings of remote northwestern Cambodia, where her family foundation has worked for 18 years to help conserve the environment and support local communities.
In contrast to the first commercial she shot with Guerlain at her home in France, Jolie reveals this is “more personal” to her. She adds, “It’s more intimate”.
Instead of portraying a “false life”, Jolie says she likes the idea that “you represent something that’s truly like how you live in real life.” It isn’t just a fantasy, she says. “I think people know that: when there’s truth or when there’s a fairy tale. I think they prefer the truth.”
