Update, 28/5: Following news of their divorce after just over a year of marriage, Amber Heard has reportedly filed a domestic violence restraining order against Johnny Depp.

Heard and her lawyer, Samantha Spector, appeared in court with photos of Heard's "various bruises," which she claims were, according to TMZ, "inflicted various times during their marriage." Depp's lawyer, Laura Wasser, appeared on his behalf, as the actor is currently out of town promoting Alice Through the Looking Glass.

Neither Heard nor Depp (who were married just 15 months ago) have commented on the restraining order, though Depp's rep recently made a statement about their divorce:

"Given the brevity of this marriage and the most recent and tragic loss of his mother, Johnny will not respond to any of the salacious false stories, gossip, misinformation and lies about his personal life. Hopefully the dissolution of this short marriage will be resolved quickly."

Update, 27/5: Two days after Amber Heard filed for divorce from him after one year of marriage, Johnny Depp has addressed the split in a statement through his rep. "Given the brevity of this marriage and the most recent and tragic loss of his mother, Johnny will not respond to any of the salacious false stories, gossip, misinformation and lies about his personal life. Hopefully the dissolution of this short marriage will be resolved quickly."

Depp's mother passed away last week. Heard and Depp reportedly did not have a prenup, and Heard is seeking spousal support. The two were rumoured to have begun dating around June 2012, after starring in 2011's The Rum Diary together. They confirmed their engagement in March 2014.

Original post, 26/5: After 15 months of marriage, Amber Heard has filed for divorce from Johnny Depp, citing irreconcilable differences.

According to the divorce petition filed on Monday, Amber is seeking spousal support from her soon-to-be-ex-husband; but TMZ reports that Johnny has already filed a response via his lawyer, asking that the judge deny Amber's request.

Amber and Johnny first met on set of the 2011 film The Rum Diary, and subsequently began dating in 2012. A couple years later, they got married in February 2015 in a private civil ceremony at their home in Los Angeles. It is unclear at this time if there is a specific reason for their divorce, or if they will share custody of their dogs, Pistol and Boo.
