Anne Hathaway Remembers 'The Princess Diaries' 15 Years Later

It's been 15 years since Mia Thermopolis entered our lives on the big screen, and Anne Hathaway is feeling a little sentimental.

The movie's permeated pop culture, providing us with all the one-liners and GIFs we could ever need.

Alongside a gif of Joe (Hector Elizondo) teaching rhythmically-challenged Mia how to dance, the star of the Disney hit wrote: "It's been 15 years (say it with me) SHUT UP!!!!!

"To all the fans who have loved Mia, Louie, Lily, Joe, Michael and, of course, Queen Clarisse, thank you from the bottom of my heart!"

Hathaway then turned her attention to The Princess Diaries director Garry Marshall, who passed away last month at the age of 81.

"And to Garry Marshall, thank you for making me a princess. I love you always my beloved friend and teacher, and I miss you every day."

Hathaway previously took to social media to share a heartfelt note about the beloved filmmaker. She expressed her thanks and love for Marshall—who made her a household name—and praised his extraordinary life.

Princess Diaries 3 is still up in the air following the iconic director's death. It'd be a shame to do the movie without him, but then again, what a wonderful tribute it would be to honour him one last time with a final outing for Mia Thermopolis.
